commonly called a staghorn or elkhorn fern due to it's weirdly + wonderful, unique, antler shaped leaves. they make wonderful gifts and look particularly unique as a hanging plant once the fronds get long enough to start trailing. comes in beautiful vintage clay pot. 4" pot size and ready to be named. .
Staghorn (Plant) Care:
.
H20: it is best to water from below because of the hard shield leaves covering the root ball. dunk in water for 10-15 mins (less in winter) and ensure there is adequate drainage. allow the soil to begin to dry-out before watering. don't let it stand in water continually.
.
Light : prefers bright, indirect light. find the brightest spot you have for the best results - avoid exposing to direct sunlight as this will scorch the fronds.
.
Pets: considered non-toxic. safe around children and animals.
.
Food: enjoys liquid fertilizer occasionally during the growing season.
.
Temperature: will thrive in normal household temperatures: between 16-24°C. try to always keep above 12°C at the very minimum. avoid areas that may get cold draughts in winter.
