Calendula || Botanical Oil
A golden, slow infusion for dry, delicate skin. Calendula is one of my favourite plants to grow and work with. Each summer, its bright orange flowers are gathered and slowly infused into organic sunflower oil, drawing the richness of the plant into a simple, beautiful oil for face and body.
Lightweight and silky, it sinks easily into the skin, leaving it soft, nourished and comfortable without feeling heavy.
Its scent is subtle and true to the plant, earthy, warm and slightly smoky rather than floral. A little reminder of the sun-warmed garden it came from. Housed in 30ml amber glass bottle. Handcrafted in Alberta.
Two simple ingredients, brought together slowly.
Calendula is loved for its gentle, comforting nature and is especially beautiful for skin that feels dry, delicate or weathered.
Organic sunflower oil is naturally rich in skin-loving fatty acids and helps soften and replenish the skin while remaining light enough for everyday use.
Together they make a wonderfully uncomplicated botanical oil, one bottle with many small uses.
A Few Ways to Use It
For face + body
Warm a few drops between your hands and press into slightly damp skin wherever a little extra nourishment is needed.
For dry, weathered skin
Massage into hands, elbows, knees or anywhere skin feels especially thirsty.
After sun + time outdoors
A lovely oil to reach for after long garden days, summer sun, wind or dry prairie weather.
For little ones
Use a small amount to gently moisturize dry skin. As with any new botanical product, patch test first on sensitive skin.
Mixed with your favourite lotion
Add a drop or two when your skin is asking for something richer.
For massage
Its slow slip and soft, earthy scent make it a beautiful simple body or massage oil.

I make this calendula oil in small batches here in Alberta, allowing the plant to slowly infuse rather than rushing the process. Nothing complicated and nothing unnecessary — simply a beautiful plant, a nourishing oil, and a little patience.
