Rose Geranium Hydrosol
Distilled from fresh rose geranium leaves and blossoms, this hydrosol carries the plant’s bright, green character-a little rosy, a little citrusy, and beautifully alive.
Rose geranium has long been valued in traditional plant care for bringing comfort to irritated or unsettled skin. Its gently balancing nature makes it especially lovely for skin that feels dry in some places, oily in others, or simply in need of a fresh beginning. The scent is softly floral but grounded by the green warmth of the leaves, making it as welcome in a room as it is upon the skin.
Proudly distilled in small batches using a traditional copper alembic still. Housed in a 118 ml amber glass bottle to help protect these living waters from light and preserve their delicate botanical nature. What you’re left with is the softer side of rose geranium—fresh, restorative, and wonderfully green.
What’s a Hydrosol? Pure plant magic, my friend. Hydrosols are the aromatic “living” waters created during the steam distillation of botanicals. While essential oils are the more concentrated extract, hydrosols are the softer side of the plant—powerful when distilled properly, but gentle enough to mist directly onto the skin, with no dilution needed. They’re also easier on the earth, using far less plant material while still holding the scent, character, and herbal goodness of the plant itself.
Traditional Uses + Botanical Benefits: Rose geranium has traditionally been used to comfort the skin and restore a sense of balance. This gentle botanical water is loved for its ability to:
- Calm the look of redness and everyday irritation
- Refresh skin that feels warm, dry, or weather-touched
- Gently tone and support the skin’s natural balance
- Care for combination, oily, or blemish-prone skin
- Offer light hydration without feeling heavy
- Freshen the scalp, hair, linens, or the air around you
- Bring a soft sense of calm through its green, rosy scent
How to Use: Mist onto clean skin morning and night as a botanical toner, or throughout the day whenever your skin feels warm, tired, or in need of refreshing.
You can also mist it through the hair and onto the scalp, use it to set makeup, freshen linens, or bring the scent of the summer garden into your space.
Try it on clean skin, fresh out of the shower-the perfect time to follow with your favourite face or body oil and help hold in moisture.
Tiny Truth: Rose geranium doesn’t smell quite like a rose. She is greener, brighter, and a little wild around the edges-the scent of crushed leaves on warm fingers, with soft floral notes rising underneath. Not quite the rose garden. More like the potting shed beside it.
A Few Notes: Store in the fridge for an extra-refreshing spritz and extended shelf life-up to one year. This is especially helpful when purchasing multiple bottles. Best used within six months of opening for peak freshness.
As always, patch test before full use if you have particularly sensitive skin.
Winter Note: During colder months, hydrosols may be shipped in BPA-free plastic bottles to help prevent breakage and protect the integrity of the hydrosol during freezing temperatures. We recommend transferring your hydrosol to the provided glass bottle upon arrival for continued storage.
